Moving to a group...
@ 02/03/08 – 10:03:41
OK, here's a thought...
Gil has suggested we move this blog to a group, I have to admit I'm largely up for it, this would stay as a back-catalogue but activity would move across.
When I started this it was originally under the guise of what is now the groups, getting a lot of people together under one blogging-roof to natter about sci-fi...
So, if no-one has any complaints, I'll be moving it sometime today...
Speak now or forever hold thy piece

How to know you're a redneck Jedi...
@ 11/01/08 – 08:55:12
- Your Jedi robe is a camouflage color.
- You have ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20.
- You think the best use of your light saber is picking your teeth.
- At least one wing of your X-Wing is primer colored
- There is a blaster rack in the back of your landspeeder
- You have bantha horns on the front of your landspeeder
- You can easily describe the taste of an Ewok
- You can find no grammatical errors in the way Yoda talks
- You have ever had an X-wing up on blocks in your yard.

Hancock (not Tony) - an interesting take on the Superhero genre of films
@ 01/01/08 – 17:42:31
A hard-living superhero (Smith) who has fallen out of favour with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron - obviously not engaging enough to put in the trailer) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman) who's trying to repair his image. Apparently....

Review: Voyage of The Damned
@ 25/12/07 – 20:30:09
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE TAPED THE EPISODE, AND ARE YET TO VIEW THE TAPE
(Don't say I didn't warn you!)Well, that was an amazing Christmas special.
Not only did it have action and mystery, but also funny lines. Example, the belief that Santa might be God, and Mary his wife! And confusing the bird turkey with the country! Juvenile humour I know, but humans hold the belief that aliens are green, one-eyed and have tentacles. So it shouldn't really be a surprise that they confuse our Earth traditions. (And a nod to Galaxy Quest in there!).
Not to mention The Doctor's discovery that the Titanic is a space ship, and his quizzing of the angel information points - The Hosts. Did they know why that name ("Earth's most famous ship") had been chosen? Possibly. After all, Max Capricorn's plan was to smash into the Earth, taking revenge on the board of his company and getting a nice retirement thrown in. They seemed to be under his control all the time, so it's possible as the captain knew of the plan. Taking the murky world of business into space, and onto another planet.
That was the second episode in as many series that had evil angels. Are the Doctor Who production team trying to tell us something?!
