by cj592 @ 23/09/07 - 12:36:05

I have just sat through the last three episodes of the third series. FANTASTIC. I am so looking forward to the next series in 2008. But did you know there won't be a series 5 in 2009? According to the magazine, there will be a series 5 in 2010, but only three specials in 2009. Booooooo!

And on other news. Don't forget that the New Sarah Jane Adventures start tomorrow! BBC1 5pm. The Slitheen are back ;)

by cj592 @ 16/09/07 - 08:42:33

What do you think? The Axons return? Joanna Lumley as the Master? (Sapphire and Steel related title) A 4 part finale involving the Time War?

News on the Life on Mars follow up...

Keeley Hawes (Spooks) has beaten hundreds of hopefuls to don her leg warmers and play ambitious, psychological profiler, DI Alex Drake who, when finding herself stuck in 1981, takes on the infamous DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister) in Ashes To Ashes, the eagerly-anticipated sequel to Life On Mars, it was announced today.

Alex has rapidly risen through the ranks of the Met in the modern world of 2008.

However, she is ripped from her current world of sexual equality and respect and finds herself faced with the boorish Gene in a two-tone, New Romantic, Eighties London with a soundtrack of Adam Ant, Roxy Music and The Human League ringing in her ears.

Today, Keeley said: "I'm thrilled to be playing Alex. She's a fantastic character and will be a force to be reckoned with as far as Gene Hunt is concerned; the two of them locking horns in the Eighties will certainly be a sight to behold, never mind the shoulder pads."

Oh - and I heard a rumour that the US version of Life on Mars is being written by the same people who wrote the UK versions, and that COLM MEANEY (ex Star Trek) is to star in the 'equivalent' role to Gene Hunt. Cool!!

Colm Meaney is in final talks to star opposite fellow Dublin actor Jason O'Mara in the pilot episode of the American version of the hit BBC series 'Life on Mars'.

O'Mara will play Sam Tyler, the modern-day detective who is transported back to 1972; the character was played in the BBC series by John Simm.

The Hollywood  Reporter says Meaney will play Detective Hunt, the uncouth head of the homicide unit in 1972 who clashes with Sam; the character was played in the BBC series by Philip Glenister.

Peter Davison returns as the Doctor?

by GilraenH @ 07/09/07 - 23:10:39

The Sun has released an article about the forthcoming Children In Need special for Doctor Who. The article comes two days after a similar spoiler was spoken by Sylvester McCoy in New Zealand. As always, nothing has been confirmed by the BBC. Currently the Children In Need telethon is on scheduled for November 16th. Please click on the Spoiler tag below to view the article.

Doctor Who legend Peter Davison is to step back into the Tardis – and come face to face with the current Doctor.

Peter, 56, who played the Timelord in the 1980s, will pull on his famous trenchcoat once again for a Children In Need special.

Bosses are tight-lipped about the storyline, written by Who scribe Stephen Moffat.

But an insider revealed: “The Doctor is forever travelling though time so there’s no reason why he couldn't catch up with a former incarnation.

“Peter was top of the writer’s list to make a comeback."

This year’s Children In Need charity telethon takes place on BBC1 on Friday, November 16.

An accomplished diplomat who can virtually do no wrong, you sometimes know it is best to rely on the council of others while holding the reins.

There are some words which I have known since I was a schoolboy. "With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably." These words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie -- as a wisdom, and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged.

Anyone Else Remember This?

by rithompson @ 05/09/07 - 20:03:42

I couldn't remember the name, so had to go to wikipedia to jog my memory.

The Girl from Tomorrow was a CBBC series back in the early nineties, about a girl from a future civilisation who is kidnapped and transported to 1990.

And, thanks to wonderful Youtube, I've found a video of the opening credits.

Now, I off to watch more youtube videos and search the web! :D
